10 Biggest Failures In The Premier League This Season (So Far)

6. Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

Cesc Fabregas is the first Chelsea player to make the list and is arguably the main reason (alongside his midfield partner Nemanja Matic, who is lucky not to make this list) that the Blues' performances this season have been extremely below par. Fabregas found the net three times in the Premier League last season but he made an astonishing 18 assists that turned Chelsea's play from functional to title-winning. The majority of the player's strong performances came during the first half of the season and he struggled to keep the standard towards the end as Jose Mourinho opted for a more defensive style. This season, Fabregas defensive frailties have been exposed (something that Pep Guardiola tried to improve during his time at Barcelona) and he no looks like the player who made Chelsea such a force last year. The Spaniard has only made one assist this season and has not managed to score a single goal.
