10 Candidates For The PFA Young Player Of The Year Award

5. Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling is another talented English youngster that has emerged from an attack minded Liverpool team. A player that has been earmarked for success since the age of 14, Sterling has used his devastating pace down the right hand side to score five goals in 19 games this season, more than doubling his goal tally of last season. If Sterling can curb his off the field antics and improve his work ethic, then he will be a very important part of Liverpool and England's future. Indeed, Rodgers has suggested that Sterling's improved work ethic has played a part in his strong performances this season so there are signs that Sterling is starting to mature both as a player and as a person. Verdict Like his teammate listed below, Sterling is in with an outside chance of winning the award. One positive for Sterling's chances is that he is hitting the peak of his form right around the time that voting for the award will begin so it would be very surprising if Sterling was not at the very least shortlisted for the award.
