10 Copa America Players Newcastle Could Realistically Target
10. Carlos Zambrano (Peru)
Age: 25 Position: Centre-Back Club: Eintracht Frankfurt International Caps (Goals): 25 (3) Estimated Market Value: £5 million If there's a position Newcastle need to shore up this summer then it is centre-back - and Peru's Carlos Zambrano could really fit the bill. The 25-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt defender has played in Europe throughout his entire senior career and has made 97 Bundesliga appearances in all for Schalke 04, FC St Pauli and also his current club. Capped 25 times by Peru, Zambrano would be available for around £5 million - and he could become a Toon hero just like his fellow countrymen Nolberto Solano if he was to arrive on Tyneside. Few defenders with such top-level European experience will be available at such a reasonable price - and Magpies chief scout Graham Carr has certainly run the rule over Zambrano's progress in the past.
