10 Deflating Things That Always Seem To Happen To Spurs

3. Milestones Being Recorded Against Them

As a Spurs fan, it is always terrible to hear that, in the build-up to a match, a team hasn't won for X amount of games, or hasn't scored for X amount of games, or that a player who is opposing them has never scored a goal in the competition in which they're playing Spurs - because, invariably, that barren run will come to an end against the Lilywhites. Spurs' last two Premier League matches epitomise this notion; against Newcastle United at White Hart Lane, the two players who scored for the Toon, as they won 2-1, had never scored in the Premier League prior to the game. Then, against Aston Villa at Villa Park, the Villains predictably ended a 547 minute spell without a goal, as Andreas Weimann put Villa in the lead in a match the Midlands side ultimately lost. This has gone on for years now and it's got to the point that it's expected.
