10 Excruciatingly Awkward UFC Post Fight Interviews

4. Georges St-Pierre Is Not Impressed

At UFC 63, Matt Hughes defeated BJ Penn to successfully defend the UFC welterweight title. Hughes did labour through the fight, but was able to take advantage of Penn's gas tank emptying to record a TKO win. George St-Pierre had earlier won a title eliminator over BJ Penn, but injury forced him to wait in line and Penn got the shot instead.

Hughes mentioned that he knew Georges was next in a fairly run of the mill interview after the fight, as GSP sat in the front row. Dana White invited the Canadian into the octagon, and while all hell didn't break loose, a quote that will live on in MMA infamy was uttered.

GSP took the mic to address Hughes, and got straight to the point. "I'm very glad you won that fight, Matt, but I'm not impressed by your performance, and I look forward to fight you in the near future." That was all St-Pierre had to say. He shook Hughes' hand, gave the mic back to Joe Rogan, and sauntered out. A clearly baffled Hughes said that he had a right to his opinion, even though it stunk.

While GSP would later call it a low class manoeuvre on his part and did apologise to Matt, he would have been impressed by his own performance at UFC 65. With a beautiful head kick in Round 2, St-Pierre sent Hughes to the canvass and finished him off with strikes to take the welterweight title.
