10 Football Teams That Over-Performed In 2019/20

4. OFI Crete

OFI Crete have faced major struggles for the entirety of the last decade.

Having begun the 2010s in the second tier, they fought their way back to the Super League only to face administration and relegation to amateur status in 2015.

The phoenix club that emerged bounced almost immediately back up to the top flight, and in the 19/20 season OFI obtained their highest top-flight finish since the 1999/00 season with a very respectable 5th place.

Although they finished bottom of the subsequent play-off round, the 'O Ă“milos' fans will have confidence going forward under new management.

Though they conceded quite a lot of goals in the context of the league and the other teams around them, they can thank their good league position to the fact that they scored just as many.

Kosmas Tsilianidis proved to be the stand out of their new recruits. Brought in on a free transfer, the Greek winger provided 6 goals and 7 assists in 23 league matches, with OFI Crete failing to score in the only three league matches he missed.

Let's see if the club can return to the heights of the late Eugene Gerards' era.
