10 Footballers You Totally Forgot Played For England

5. Matt Jarvis

Matt Jarvis has accumulated a lot of experience throughout his career. After debuting at 17 years old, playing four years with Gillingham in both the Championship and League One, he earned a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers. In his second season with Wolves, Jarvis helped his side win promotion to the Premier League.

In 2011, after several solid seasons in the top flight with Wolves, the winger was recognised by Fabio Capello as deserving of a place in his England squad to face Wales and Ghana. Though he didn't get a chance to play against the former in a Euro qualifier, he did make his one and only England appearance in a friendly against the latter.

Like many on this list, Jarvis didn't start the game, but came on with around 20 minutes to go. Though he failed to make any real impact, he did become the first Wolves player to wear the Three Lions shirt since Steve Bull in 1990.

Jarvis' career went downhill after a move to West Ham. After four years with the Hammers he moved to Norwich, playing for the Canaries in just one of his four seasons at Carrow Road, never again returning to the England set-up.
