10 Forgotten Men Who Desperately Need To Move Before September
4. Michael Dawson
Many Spurs fans would have preferred for Michael Dawson to complete his transfer to Queens Park Rangers in the past, but the Englishman still remains at White Hart Lane. Not blessed with much pace in his prime and having turned 30, the future looks bleak for the former Forest defender. Despite being a long-term servant to Tottenham, the arrival of Mauricio Pocchetino should spell the beginning of the end for Dawson, given the Argentine's philosophy of playing an intense and high-pressing system. Ultimately, the rarely-capped England international isn't the type of defender suited to holding a high line, with Dawson not blessed with sufficient pace to recover should he make a mistake. If Spurs' central midfield continues to be as leaky this season as it was last, failing to protect Dawson and dragging the 30-year-old out of position, Spurs can expect to be caught out with some regularity at the back. The signing of Eric Dier, who performed admirably on his debut for his new club, should put the final nail in the coffin as far as Dawson's loyal spell at White Hart Lane is concerned.
