Does it really need to be stated about just why Luka Modric would be a good addition to the Spurs midfield? Not only would the Croatian midfielder get his regular game at any team in the Premier League, he would quite probably command a starting berth at any side in world football. It has been quite a turnaround for a player who was once voted The Worst Signing of the Season during his miserable debut season in Spain, following a £33 million move to Real Madrid from Spurs. The diminutive midfielder has just about everything in his locker, from a wonderful range of passing to an explosive eye for goal. His partnership with Xabi Alonso at the heart of the Real Madrid midfield was a key component for the sides surge to the final, and he looks to be striking up a similarly fruitful double act with World Cup winner Toni Kroos thus far this campaign. Spurs, of course, dont have a prayer of luring their former fan favourite back to White Hart Lane, as he has truly realised his status as a world-class star at a level befitting his talents. But as the supporters witness the likes of Paulinho, Etienne Capoue and Moussa Dembele toil throughout the season, they can certainly dream.
