10 Former Strikers Spurs Wish They Had Now

2. Jurgen Klinsmann

Time At Spurs: 1994-1995, 1997-1998. Games For Spurs: 68. Goals For Spurs: 39. Jurgen Klinsmann was one of the best strikers in world football in the 1980s and 1990s. The German international won the World Cup with West Germany in 1990 and the European Championships with Germany in 1996. It was a huge coup and a real surprise when Alan Sugar managed to lure him to North London in 1994 and he went on to be arguably the best goalscorer Spurs have had in all of the Premier League era. In both of his spells at the club - the second of which was on loan from Sampdoria in Italy - he was the top scorer in those seasons. This was particularly impressive the second time around, as he only joined for the second half of the season and his goals were the only reason Spurs stayed up that year. His finishing was clinical and Spurs fans would give anything to see his trademark diving celebration today.
