10 Former Strikers Spurs Wish They Had Now

6. Dimitar Berbatov

Time At Spurs: 2006-2008. Games For Spurs: 102. Goals For Spurs: 46. Every now and again, a player arrives at a club who turns out to be a little bit special, possessing a little bit of magic. In recent years, Spurs have had that with both winger Gareth Bale and midfielder Luka Modric but, a little bit before them, they had it in a striker in Dimitar Berbatov. The Bulgarian was something of an enigma. He looked lazy, but he had a touch and skill that was second-to-none. He could turn a game on its head when he had been nowhere to be seen for 89 minutes - and his goalscoring record of almost one in every two games wasn't bad either. After his performances at White Hart Lane - he was top scorer in both of his seasons at the club - Spurs trebled their money in selling Berbatov to Manchester United for £30.75 million just two years after he arrived - and what they would do for some of his magic now.
