8. Charles N'Zogbia Went Looking For Champions League Football... At Wigan

Despite being a fan favourite for a while at Newcastle, Charles N'Zogbia's profile took a couple of serious dints towards the end of his time on Tyneside. First, he fell out with Andy Carroll, earning himself a sore face from the notoriously quick to violence striker and then Joe Kinnear "hilariously" came out and called him Charles Insomnia, earning accusations of disrespect and an almighty grump from the player who demanded to leave. In fact, the Frenchman had wanted to leave the club already, and his lack of first-team opportunities was just the catalyst he needed in 2008 to say, rather self-servingly, that his sights were set on a bigger club and a bigger stage for his talents.
