10 Impact Signings Bellator Have Made Since 2015

5. Rory MacDonald

MacDonald was arguably the biggest addition that Bellator made during the 2016 calendar year. Signed in August, the 27-year-old welterweight was dominant in his debut in May 2017, submitting another former UFC castoff, Paul Daley in the second round.

MacDonald, a former UFC veteran of six years, is still well into his prime as a fighter and is widely considered one of the best welterweights in the world. He holds victories over current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley as well as UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn, and looks to be well on his way to challenging for the title in the future.
