10 Key Players To Watch In The Premier League This Season
6. Tom Ince
Just what is all the fuss about Tom Ince, one might ask? With the 22 year old winger having been courted by Italian heavyweights Inter Milan this summer, cynics cant be blamed for guessing that his father might be beyond the interest. Struggling to establish himself in Tony Pulis Crystal Palace side last season, Ince was determined to have another crack at the league with Hull City. Since excelling at Blackpool following his release by Liverpool in 2011, notching 31 goals in 100 appearances, which included a brief spell under the stewardship of his father, he has been amongst the most courted players in recent transfer windows. Nearly every club in the Premier League has at one point or another been linked with Tom Ince. So when the rising star registered just one goal in eight appearances at Crystal Palace last season, there seemed to be an awkward silence hanging over his potential suitors with regards to his future. However, once interest was inexplicably drummed up in Milan, clubs began to reawaken themselves to the potential of the former Liverpool youth, and Hull City pounced. Not many players turn down the lure of Inter Milan, especially when their father is held in such high regard in the capital. Tom Ince is surely the only player in the history of the sport to have rejected the opportunity to ply his trade at the San Siro in favour of the KC Stadium, so that surely reflects his burning ambition to succeed in his native homeland.
At Blackpool, he excelled as their star player. At Hull City, he will again be one of the key players, and should command a regular starting berth. This is surely the season to see whether Ince is all hes cracked up to be, or if hes just another Scott Sinclair.
