10 Man City Players Who Should Fear For Their Future

8. Fernando

Former Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia was something of a scapegoat at Eastlands, blasted for a series of tepid displays as City meekly surrendered their Premier League crown during the 12/13 season. Judging from the first few months of the season, it looks as though the Spanish midfielder has returned in the guise of £12 million Brazilian Fernando. At 27 years old and without a cap to his name, it was something of a surprise when Manuel Pellegrini swooped for the FC Porto midfielder in the summer. The Brazilian has made eight Premier League appearances so far this season, and has looked off the pace as City have slumped to embarrassing defeats at Stoke City and West Ham. City supporters have not been too enamoured with the 27 year old's substandard performances during the autumn, and unless there is a massive improvement, he could yet meet the same premature fate as his Spanish predecessor.
