10 Men Who Could Be The Next Scotland Manager

3.Gary McAllister

McAllister had a very accomplished playing Career, most notably at Leeds and Liverpool, and is remembered by the Scottish fans for missing a penalty against England at Euro 96. At this stage, he has a very limited managerial CV but he's a regular pundit on TV, showing great insight into the naunces of the game, and his knowledge of top flight football could serve him well in a national post, particularly if he brought in a strong back-room team to support him.

4. Walter Smith

One of two previous Scotland managers on this list, Smith was Graeme Souness' assistant at Rangers, and took on the managers' post when Souness left to manage Liverpool. He was one game away from a Champions League final, and led the Gers through their most successful period, winning 9 Scottish League titles in a row, before he left to manage Everton, where he had mixed success. He became Scotland manager in 2004, where he produced the national team's best results since qualifying for the 1998 World Cup before he controversially left the post to rejoin Rangers in 2007.
