Diminutive striker Jermain Defoe has had two extremely fruitful spells at Spurs and it was an emotional day when he made his last appearance for the club - a five minute cameo in a 1-0 home victory against Everton - on February the 9th 2014. Defoe's two stints at White Hart Lane saw him score no less than 91 Premier League goals for the Lilywhites, as well as a further 52 in other competitive matches. Indeed, Defoe is Tottenham's all-time leading goalscorer in European competition with 23 goals in 35 appearances - a feat he achieved on the 7th of November in 2013, when he scored at home to Moldova's FC Sheriff to go one better than the previous record of 22, which was held by a very supportive Martin Chivers. Defoe never won any trophies with Spurs, but he certainly had his moments - none more so than when he hit five goals in one match when Spurs demolished Wigan Athletic 9-1 in the 2009-10 season. The England striker moved to Toronto FC in January of 2014, where he joined up with former Spurs player Ryan Nelsen, who is in charge of the Canadian MLS outfit. He is sorely missed by Spurs fans.
