10 Most Awkward Football Reunions Ever

9. David Beckham vs Fabio Capello

David Beckham had endured a power struggle with Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, and at Real Madrid, it looked like he had found another in the form of the strict headmaster Fabio Capello. With Beckham having announced midway through his final season at the club that he would depart Spain for LA Galaxy at the end of the season, a furious Capello stated that the former England captain would never play for the club again. Beckham€™s ostracism from the team would last a month, with Capello forced to backtrack on his vindictive statement, allowing Beckham€™s form to catapult the club to their first La Liga triumph in four years. Within a few months, both men would be gone, with Spanish pundits hinting at his poor treatment of the English superstar as a factor for dismissal. Beckham may found it a sweet relief to be free of Capello€™s strict clutches and spiky words, but fate wasn€™t done with them yet, and the worst was yet to come. Within three years, history would sort of repeat itself, as the 115-cap wideman was told by his now-England boss that he would never play for his country again.
''I say thank you very much for helping me at the World Cup, but probably he is a little bit old. He will play one friendly to say bye-bye.۪۪ - Fabio Capello, August 2010.
Beckham must have been tearing his hair out, wondering why the Italian was on this seemingly hell-bent crusade to end his career wherever he went.
