10 Most Awkward Football Reunions Ever

5. Jason Puncheon vs Neil Warnock

With the 65 year old Neil Warnock having been out of a job since Championship side Leeds United fired him in April 2013, and Crystal Palace firing on all fronts in the Premier League under Tony Pulis, Jason Puncheon probably thought it was quite safe to launch a scathing attack on his former boss social media site Twitter in response to comments Warnock had made about a penalty he had missed. Little did he know that within nine months, the two would be linking up once more. Warnock had been working for Talksport at the time, when he stated that €˜there€™s no way I would€™ve trusted him with a penalty€™. Puncheon, who had played under Warnock for four months at QPR, was not best pleased.
''What I won۪t accept is an opinion from a man who۪s crooked and ruining the game. NEIL WARNOCK the man who signs players, gives them extra wages n app bonus to make sure they pay him to get in the team or on the bench. The fact he could even talk about training is shocking he was never there. Everything else is banter and opinions and as a man I will live with that which is fine but I will not live with his opinion.۪۪ - Jason Puncheon, January 2014.
As a result, the 27 year old winger was fined £15,000 by the FA and warned about his future conduct. He must have slumped in his chair when news broke about who was about to succeed Tony Pulis as Crystal Palace manager in August, but Warnock is adamant the issue has been put to bed.
''No, I was told he was going to ask to leave before my first day. So, I was waiting for him to ask but we just had a quick chat, only a ten-minute chat, and he was brilliant really. We put it to bed early doors and he has been a revelation for me.۪۪ - Neil Warnock, September 2014.
