10 Most Disappointing Premier League Players Of 2014/15 (So Far)

3. Radamel Falcao

There was huge delight from United fans when they sealed a surprise loan deal for Falcao last summer, with many predicting he would give Van Gaal's men the added firepower to get them back in the title race. The Colombian had been one of the world's best strikers for a few years, and his likeness in playing style to Sergio Aguero meant he had all the attributes to become a Premier League star. It has just not happened for the 28-year-old though. There are definite question marks that the serious knee injury he suffered for Monaco last season has ended his prime years, and he has certainly looked a yard short of pace at times. Niggling injuries have made things very stop start for him, in fairness. Despite this, just three goals for the club is a poor return for a player of his brilliance, and his all-round game has not looked very impressive. There are doubts about whether Van Gaal will hold onto him at the end of the season - the fact that he didn't even make the squad for the Southampton game puts his future further in doubt - and on current evidence United would be wise to get rid of him and bring someone else in.
