Celtic had already defeated the previous years European Cup winners, Real Madrid and played the 1967 final against a feared Internazionale side who had won two of the three previous tournaments. Incredibly, Celtic fielded eleven players who were all born within a 22 mile radius of Parkhead, and they stormed to victory in Lisbon. Steve Chalmers scored the biggest goal in Celtics history with 6 minutes to go, and in doing so cemented the Lisbon Lions' place in history.
