It's easy to forget that Harry Kewell was on the verge of becoming one of the world's best before injury halted his career. Playing for Leeds in the late 90s and early 00s it seemed he was capable of doing anything. Goals, assists and the spectacular yielded to Kewell on a regular basis.

His performances marched an unfashionable team to the semi-finals of the Champions League and almost to a league title, but unfortunately his personal achievements ended there.

When Leeds sank heavily into debt, he moved to Liverpool and the injuries set in. The Australian had always seemed injury-prone but now he couldn't string two games together without a knock or hamstring strain creeping up on him.

In the Istanbul final, Kewell left the pitch with an injury before half time and was booed by his own fans, and sadly, his form and fitness never really returned.
