When many people think of Mercedes F1, they think of Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and the total domination of the sport since 2014. Yes, while the bulk of their success has come in recent years, they, like many others on this list, have an illustrious history in the sport.

Mercedes entered Formula One in in 1954 and immediately dominated, with Juan Manuel Fangio winning the driver's title in 1954 and 1955. However, because the Constructors' Championship was not yet a reality, Mercedes would not pick up their first until 2014.

The marque left the sport in 1955 after the Le Mans tragedy, where 80 spectators were killed by an airborne Mercedes car.

Mercedes returned as an engine manufacturer and saw success from their partnership with McLaren. In 2010, they returned to Formula One as a works team. Not seeing initial success, Mercedes plugged away and when Formula One moved to 1.6-litre turbo-charged hybrid engines, Mercedes, with drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, dominated once again.

Constructors' Championships: 3

Wins: 68
