10 Past Rangers Signings That Seem Impossible Now

1. Tore Andre Flo

Speaking of which, the £12 million transfer fee splashed out on one Tore Andre Flo would keep Rangers running for years on the transfer market. Signed in November, 2000 for the huge figure, the Norwegian was supposed to be one of the final pieces of the puzzle for Dick Advocaat at Rangers. In reality, Flo would have needed to score a hat-trick every game to justify that kind of money. A fine striker, it was still baffling that the Gers spent so much on one player. Chelsea must have been laughing all the way to the bank, because Flo certainly wasn't worth such a fee. He did score goals, but it was never going to be enough to stop the £12 million number from overshadowing everything. Quite why then-Chairman David Murray agreed to spend such money is mind-boggling. This was supposed to be a statement of intent from Rangers, but it ended up breaking the bank. Flo's transfer was simply too much, and whilst is may seem impossible to see another transfer like it, that's something fans are grateful for. It was a colossal waste of money, as Rangers could have built the spine of a successful team with that capital. What other Glasgow Rangers signings can you think of that seem impossible in today's market? Do you remember the players listed here? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments section below!
