Arsenal Transfers: 10 Players Wenger Should Have Signed

Some good summer business, but Arsenal still look weak...

Have we all recovered from the manufactured drama that Sky Sports News creates on Deadline Day? Excellent. So, when the transfer window slammed shut on Monday night, and Arsenal managed to sneak Danny Welbeck€™s signing across the line, that took Arsene Wenger€™s summer spending to between £77-82million €“ it all depends on whether you think Alexis Sanchez€™s arrival meant Arsenal forked out £30million, £35million or somewhere in between. Most Gooners at the beginning of the summer would€™ve laughed you out of the Emirates if you suggested that the affectionately known D Welbz was going to be something of a transfer window saviour come 1st September. However, as the clock ticked closer to 11pm, Welbeck quickly became an exciting proposition for the Arsenal faithful. The England international€™s arrival addresses €“ to a certain extent €“ the issues Arsenal face with Olivier Giroud€™s injury layoff. However, problems still remain for Le Professeur having ended the transfer window with just six recognised defenders for four positions €“ this includes an injury prone Kieran Gibbs and also the belief that Nacho Monreal is an acceptable fourth choice centre-back. So, with the wonderful thing called hindsight, which rumours should Wenger have made into transfer deals? Which players should Arsene have broke the bank for?
