10 Players Who Didn't Fulfil Their Potential At Man Utd

1. Anderson

Incase you hadn't guessed, it's Nani's old mate Anderson who ranks at number one. The Brazilian midfielder was supposed to bring the box-to-box energy to Old Trafford that they'd missed since Roy Keane fell below his peak. Anderson came in and impressed initially for his tackling ability and desire, but it's been a slippery slope. He's one of those guys that you used to give the benefit of the doubt to. You'd say, 'perhaps a little disappointing this season, but next year he's going to show what he's about,' fully expecting the former Porto man to show his worth. But after United fans had told themselves four or five years running that this lad was worth the wait, it dawned on them that he actually was never going to fulfil the promise he came in with. Hope eventually turned into disappointment, Anderson got lazier, and everybody realised his time had passed. The problem is, either nobody at United or every other club in the world realises that. He spent the second half of last season at Fiorentina on loan and they didn't want him, and now he's back at Old Trafford, has been given a reject squad number and is still picking up his wages. Anderson is quite possibly the biggest waste of space United currently have on their books.
