10 Players Ian Cathro Could Bring With Him To Newcastle

6. Rodrigo De Paul

Another winger that Newcastle could do with, especially after a number of sources reported Remy Cabella wanted to leave Newcastle... Rodrigo is a player of great quality who has experience that defies his lack of years... He has already made 84 appearances for Racing Club de Avellaneda and Valencia despite only celebrating his 21st birthday in May. He is a left winger who is equally comfortable on either flank, which means that he could be another nail in the coffin of Yoan Gouffran. (We can all hope.) Once more, he isn't a regular for Valencia but chipped in with some vital performances as Los Che qualified for the Champions League last term. He did manage to get onto the field of play 27 times during the campaign and contributed with two goals, but many of those were from the substitute's bench. Valencia signed the Argentine last summer for around ‚6.5 million on a five-year deal, so Newcastle would have to pay the majority of that to secure his signature. Saying that, paying around £5 million for a man that played a more than significant role in a Champions League qualifying campaign would be one hell of a coup. Hopefully, if United do go in for him, Cathro would be able to sell the club to him enough to get him over that line. A regular starting place and the opportunity to play on the stage the Premier League brings could be enough to do this...
