10 Players Who Probably Regret Joining Spurs

1. Sergei Rebrov

Once upon a time Sergei Rebrov was the Ukrainian Premier League top scorer and was also voted the division's player of the season on multiple occasions, however Tottenham fans will remember the striker in a slightly different way. Moderate success at Shakhtar Donetsk saw Dynamo Kyiv come calling and eight prolific seasons with the Ukrainian side saw Rebrov post 129 goals in all competitions. So his arrival at White Hart Lane was highly anticipated, and the eventual £11 million switch was completed in 2000. Rebrov's first season for The Lilywhites was average at best as he returned a modest 9 goals in 29 Premier League outings, however the struggle continued into the 2001-02 campaign, where a dismal return of 3 goals in 39 appearances forced the new manager Glenn Hoddle to cut ties with the forward. Fenerbahce enjoyed Rebrov's poor performances for the next two seasons before West Ham jumped in for one year, and to no surprise, Rebrov's form somehow got even worse until he finally found refuge back in Ukraine. His second spell with Dynamo Kyiv did however see him become the Ukrainian Premier League All-Time Top Scorer, perhaps he would have been wise to stay there in the first place. So that does it for the list, did we get it right? Were there any other Tottenham players who probably regretted coming to White Hart Lane? Let us know in the comments!
