10 Players Sam Allardyce Could Bring With Him To Sunderland

1. Kevin Nolan

Okay, now it's time to get angry. The moment Kevin Nolan inevitably walks into the Stadium of Light in a Sunderland kit is the moment the club alienates half of its immensely loyal fanbase. Nolan followed Allardyce from Bolton to Newcastle to West Ham, though he's just been released by the London side, and the rumours are already flying around that a free transfer to the Black Cats is a distinct possibility. Forget the fact that he's 33, forget the fact that Sunderland don't need a player in his position, forget the fact that he's simply not good enough to get into the Black Cats' starting XI, this is Kevin Nolan... He's the man who bagged a hat-trick on Sunderland's darkest day, a 5-1 Halloween thrashing at St. James' Park. He's a loathed figure on Wearside, utterly despised every time he comes back up to the Stadium of Light. There are very few players in the world who wouldn't be forgiven for a Black & White past - after all, Sam Allardyce was the Magpies boss - but Steven Taylor, Joey Barton, and Kevin Nolan are a trinity of doom who wouldn't be welcomed at all by the Sunderland locals.
