10 Players You Totally Forgot Played For Newcastle United

10. Louis Saha

Of all of the players who Newcastle have let slip through the net, Louis Saha is undoubtedly one of the most frustrating. Back in January 1999, the Metz youngster joined Ruud Gullit's Newcastle with a big potential tag, and stayed for 5 months, playing 11 times in the league. Though he only netted two goals for the side, he showed a lot of potential - particularly in the finish he slotted against Blackburn in the FA Cup - and the idea that Newcastle couldn't come up with the transfer fee required to sign him permanently is incredibly annoying, considering the amounts spunked on inferior players. After that brief spell in the North East, the player went on to Fulham, before really hitting it big with Manchester United, where he scored 42 in 124 games and made sure Newcastle was just a distant foot-note in his path to the top.
