10 Players You Totally Forgot Played For Southampton

6. Kasey Keller

Yet another well known goalkeeper whose Southampton career is barely a footnote beneath his better known clubs, American Keller played for Saints for one month back in 2004. On the way to picking up over 100 caps for the US national team, Keller became the first American to play regularly in the Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga. Best known in England for successful spells at Millwall, Leicester and Tottenham, the 35 year old keeper had finally been pushed out of the Spurs starting line up by the arrival of Paul Robinson. With Saints enduring their worst season in years, well on the way to relegation and with an injury to first choice goalkeeper Antti Niemi, Keller was loaned in by manager Steve Wigley as a stop gap. He played four unremarkable games for Saints, conceding eight goals, before returning to Spurs where he was released in the summer.
