10 Players You Totally Forgot Played For Southampton

4. Kerry Dixon

An icon at Chelsea where he is regarded as one of the club's all time greats, Dixon is third in the Blues' all time top scorers list (just behind Frank Lampard). With all of two goals in his much briefer stint at The Dell, though, it's probably fair to say that the erstwhile England international does not enjoy the same legendary status in Southampton. The former Reading forward netted 193 times in 420 games across a nine year Chelsea career as the Blues established themselves as a top flight club. By the summer of 1992, however, his star was on the wane. That didn't stop Saints boss Ian Branfoot from splashing out £575,000 on Dixon, who wouldn't even manage a whole season at The Dell. After just nine appearances Dixon was sent out on loan to Luton in February and allowed to join the Hatters for free in the summer.
