10 Players You Totally Forgot Played For Spurs

7. Richard Gough

Richard Gough is one of those players who was actually at Spurs for quite a long time and played a lot, but went on to have such a long career and established such strong associations with other clubs that his time at the club is easily forgotten. Having played 165 games for Dundee United, Gough moved to White Hart Lane in 1986 and played 65 times for the club - even captaining them in a losing FA Cup final effort against Coventry City in 1987 - before leaving the club for Rangers in 1987, becoming the first Scotsman to ever cost £1 million. It is that association with Rangers that makes people forget most of the rest of Gough's career. He played 428 for the the Glasgow club and also had spells in MLS with Kansas City Wizards and San Jose Clash, as well as a spell in the Premier League with Everton - who were managed by his former Rangers boss Walter Smith at the time - in a professional career that lasted 22 years in total (therefore, it's no wonder his mere year at White Hart Lane is easily forgotten).
