Ben Gordon spent the early stages of his youth career with Leeds United before being snapped up by Chelsea at the age of 16. The defender may have thought it would give him a fast-track route to Premier League football but it proved to be a disastrous move.

Gordon would have been aware that he faced a number of loan moves before he would ever make the big time at Stamford Bridge but even the experience of playing in League One, Scottish Premiership and the Championship could not help him make the required step up.

He was eventually released by Chelsea in 2013 without playing for the senior side and soon suffered a a blow when failing to win a longer deal at League One team Yeovil Town after playing three games at the third tier.

The left-back went on to represent Ross County in Scotland's top flight and Colchester United in League One but since his release from Colchester in 2015, he has slipped out of the professional game.

A move to Chester FC did not work out and in March 2016, he signed for Bradford Park Avenue, who currently compete in the National League North.
