10 Players Who Regret Leaving Rangers

8. Barry Ferguson

After a distinguished period with Rangers in which he won three league titles and six cup competitions, midfielder and captain Barry Ferguson decided that the time was right to test himself in the Premier League. After 16 goals during the previous season, Ferguson had no shortage of offers, but he opted to join Blackburn Rovers in a £7.5m deal. However, despite initially settling into life in England, Ferguson indicated that his wish was to return to Rangers just 18 months after his exit, suggesting that he missed the club's rivalry with Celtic. The Scottish international would win more trophies during his second period at Ibrox before eventually departing again in 2009. Ferguson won the League Cup with Birmingham City, but that would prove to be his last trophy as a player. With 431 appearances in all competitions, Ferguson will forever be known as one of the all-time greats at Rangers, but he must wonder what else he could have achieved had he resisted the temptation to play in England.
