The story is widely being reported in the UK with the likes of the Mirror and SkySports jumping on the wagon. An Italian news agency even reported the deal was close to completion. At only 20 years old, Draxler is already valued in excess of £30 million. His release clause is thought to stand at £37 million, which if met would give Schalke no control over Draxler's future and would leave the player to make his own choice. Arsene Wenger is a long term admirer of the winger and it is believed he would look into the possibility of transforming the player into a striking role, like he has done previously in the past with the likes of Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie. Though Arsenal fans will not want to hear Draxler compared to the player that betrayed them there are certainly a lot of comparisons, which is no insult to the youngster. His ball control, flair and ability are astonishing. The player is certainly on course for achieving big things in football. If Arsenal can secure this deal it will be a massive coup for the North London side and will leave them in a great position as they search for their first trophy in eight years.
