Every World Cup has its underdog story. History has been filled with examples of low-rated teams shocking the world with major upsets and getting further in the competition than anyone could have predicted.

In 2010, for instance, we saw the likes of Ghana and Paraguay make it to the quarter finals. 2014 was all about Costa Rica, who managed to win the "Group of Death" featuring England, Italy, and Uruguay and made it all the way to the quarter finals. 2018 will surely feature another great underdog story, with plenty of low-ranked and overlooked teams set to feature at the competition.

Iceland and Panama are making their first ever World Cup appearances, while teams like Peru, Australia, Egypt, and Tunisia will all be keen to show what they can do and try to push for qualification from their respective groups. Most of these teams will surely struggle, but there's a good chance that one or two of them could make it to the round of 16, if not further.
