10 Premier League Transfers That Won't Happen This Summer

9. Xherdan Shaqiri To Liverpool

Xherdan Shaqiri has been on Liverpool's radar for much of the summer and is seemingly forever linked with a move to Liverpool whenever you open the morning paper. Shaqiri is one of European football's brightest up-and-coming young players and has amazing potential but has reportedly become unsettled over his lack of playing time at Bayern Munich. The 22-year-old made only 17 Bundesliga appearances in 2013-14 and this is a fact that has been used to stoke the fires of any potential transfer this summer. Shaqiri shone at this summer's World Cup, where he scored a hat-trick for Switzerland in his country's 3-0 win over Honduras to help secure passage through to the round of 16. And his performances at the finals in Brazil haven't gone unnoticed with Reds manager Brendan Rodgers keen. However, in a somewhat damning interview, Shaqiri said he expects to stay at Bayern this summer. The winger, who is under contract at the Allianz Arena for another two years, said: "For me, I have a contract through 2016. I'll give my best when I am at Bayern. The club believes in me and I believe in the club, so I will stay."
