10 Premier League Transfers That Won't Happen This Summer
5. Wilfried Bony To Liverpool
Wilfried Bony's transfer to Liverpool this summer could be wrecked by an anonymous bunch of Anfield naysayers. Bony was a hit in his debut season in England, scoring 16 Premier League goals following his move to Swansea City from Vitesse. And that form has seen him shoot straight to the top of the Reds' wishlist. However, the Swans are holding out for £19 million for the Ivorian and chairman Huw Jenkins will not allow him to leave the Liberty Stadium for a penny less. That has proved to be a sticking point in any potential deal and a so-called Liverpool transfer committee are afraid the striker might not be worth it. The mysterious order look set to scupper the forward's move to Merseyside with the Reds looking into alternative targets while Swansea would be foolish to sell having already loaned out Michu for the season. Any deal for the 25-year-old to leave would be impractical because Michu has joined Roma on loan leaving Bony and new signing Bafetimbi Gomis as the Welsh club's only senior strikers, and with less than three weeks to go of the transfer window, they would struggle to find a replacement.
