10 Problems Only Newcastle United Fans Will Understand

8. Having To Travel Further Than Any Other Premier League Fan

If you€™re a die-hard Newcastle fan and aim to support the lads home and away, you€™re in for a long ride to say the least. From stadium to stadium, the distance covered by travelling Newcastle fans is 7041 kilometers; that€™s 3372 kilometers more than Aston Villa, whose fans enjoy the shortest distance to travel in the Premier League. With one of the largest away followings in the Premier League, the long distances don't put the Toon Army off. Even if it's a midweek fixture at Southampton in the pouring rain, there'll always be a faithful following singing their hearts out and looking bleary eyed for work the next morning. One silver lining for away supporters is the reciprocal pricing for away tickets that a number of clubs have agreed on (including Newcastle) meaning at selected fixtures you will be saving between £5-20 per game, making the pilgrimage that little bit cheaper. This came after a petition from the good people at The Football Supporter's Federation, which organised reciprocal prices at 16 fixtures last season saving 31,807 fans £342,260 in total.
