10 Reasons The "Fight Of The Century" Was Anything But

1. It Was Just Plain Boring

There have been bad fights in boxing before, as well as strange fights and those that didn't live up to the hype (a lot of Tyson's late career bouts). However, the biggest offenders are always fights that are just plain boring - and that was the case here.

Mayweather didn't engage and Pacquiao couldn't overcome the reach advantage. While the stats will show a considerable amount of punches thrown, and landed, few did any damage. Few were what you would consider "significant strikes."

And that's the whole problem; for a bout that was supposed to have been the most significant in years, there was little significant action in the ring. The fighters - at least one more than the other - fought as if it was just a payday. And it was the fans lost out in the end.
