10 Reasons The Home Internationals Need To Return

1. A Chance To Win Something

I would love to believe that England are going to win the World Cup and while I have faith that one day that will be a possibility, the truth is that it is not going to happen any time soon. If England can't win then Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland haven't got a chance in hell, in all honesty none of the three look like they are even going to qualify any time soon. For every tournament that the golden generation of England qualified the media hype would begin, England had a great hope be it Wayne Rooney or Michael Owen and the questions would be then be asked, would the forty plus years of hurt end? Was football coming home? ...No. Thankfully with the golden generation now behind us this hype seems to have died down, for now. Bringing back the Home Internationals will give the fans something to look forward too, we all know that none of us are going to be world or European champions any time soon but wouldn't it be nice to see your team compete for something and have a genuine chance of winning? Who knows maybe winning a lesser trophy will give one of the teams the impetuous to improve and go further and if not at least we would have the chance to celebrate something.
