10 Ridiculous Arguments Against Sacking Alan Pardew

8. The Players Are Terrible

There are certain fans, and a large section of the media in particular who insist that Newcastle's failings come down to issues with raw materials: the playing staff simply are not good enough. And while it is true that the squad is incomplete - primarily because of the idiotic decisions not to sign another striker and a centre-half - that assessment is entirely wrong. Right now, Newcastle's players are simply not being used to their full potential. There are some serious talents in the squad: Janmaat, Santon, Anita, Sissoko, Cabella, De Jong and Cisse primarily, and yet only one of those star players is anywhere near on-form. And it's not an issue of a good manager failing to inspire them, it's very much a bad coaching and management set up that have turned talented players into sterile, under-performing cogs un an uninspired system.
