10 Strangest Ever Newcastle United Signings

10. Daniel Cordone

There isn't a Newcastle fan that won't wince in when Cordone's name is mentioned in passing. Half-a-million quid was near enough flushed down the toilet by Sir Bobby Robson when he brought the alice band-wearing Argentinian to St James' Park before the 2000/01 campaign.

Known for taking a camera to away grounds to snap a souvenir picture - team-mates joked that he knew that he would never player there again - we imagine Cordone's collection of images vastly outweighed his goal tally that stood at just three in 25 appearances when he returned to his native country to join Argentinos Juniors after just a year on Tyneside.

We imagine he still has the snaps of his twice monthly, all expenses paid jaunts around England to prove he was once a Premier League footballer.
