2. He Refused To Board A Plane To Join Man City
Martin Rickett/PA Wire/Press Association ImagesHaving seen the likes of Kolo Youre, Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and, more recently, Bacary Sagna all jump ship and join Manchester City down the years, Arsenal and their fans will be delighted to know Alexis Sanchez once outright refused to join the Etihad revolution. It was 2011 and Sanchez's stay at Udinese was coming to an end. The forward was at the centre of a tug-of-war for his services with Manchester City and Barcelona vying for his signature. The Manchester club put in the best offer - £30 million - which Udinese decided to accept, giving Sanchez permission to fly to England to hold talks. However, as the media arrived at Santiago airport to watch Sanchez jet off to Britain, they discovered he had slammed the breaks on the move and
had refused to board the plane, desperate instead to join Barca. In the end, he got his wish and signed for the Catalan club, leaving City disappointed.
