1. He's Perfect For Liverpool
https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/statuses/482513046565552128 Though he has the spending power of a Champions League team behind him, Brendan Rodgers did not just shell out £25m on a player because he had a good season at another club. As with the signing of team-mate Rickie Lambert, Rodgers is looking to put pieces of a puzzle in place, and offer alternatives in his squad to what he had last season. Though a defender is now still high on the priorities list (or a couple, as should be the case), the Liverpool boss has filled the strong centre-forward hole that he's had since Andy Carroll's failure on Merseyside, and in Lallana he has not only signed a player capable of replacing the attacking threat of Steven Gerrard, who has moved deeper, he has also added a goal-scorer from midfield, who has a phenomenal record of creating chances. He is exactly the kind of prolific chance creator that Liverpool need to give their already excellent attacking options more bite, and when on the pitch with Lambert, Lallana will provide a wholly different approach to what Liverpool fans will have seen last season. He will also mean that Daniel Sturridge will be given more chances to put away, rather than having to self-create, and if and the same would go for Luis Suarez, if and when he returns.
