3. Alastair Cook Scored A Century... For The First Time In Almost Two Years

It took 23 days shy of two years for Alastair Cook to add his 26th Test match century to his 25 others - with the England captain scoring 105 against the West Indies during the third and final match in the series at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown on May 1st. Cook's previous Test century came against New Zealand at Headingley in Leeds on May 24th, 2013 - almost 24 months previously. In the time it has taken Newcastle to add a Premier League point to their current tally of 35, Cook has managed to get rid of his own unwanted record that had stood for a long, long period.
