10 Twitter Accounts Every Sports Journalist Must Follow

5. Joseph Barton - @Joey7Barton - 2,302,348 followers

Screen Shot 2013 09 10 At 10 52 51 Somewhat controversially, Joey Barton is in my top 10 list of twitter accounts to follow. The opinionated midfielder, who can be an idiot at times, tweets some very intriguing and from a personal point of view, accurate, views. Now he's got over that 'philosophical' stage in his life that he went through a couple of seasons ago, he tweets some interesting stuff. The accurate opinions on sporting events are helpful when writing an opinionated piece and he can even be used as visual representation of agreement with ideas that you are promoting within your article. You may not agree with this recommendation, but if you give him a chance, you might enjoy it.
