2. Uriah Hall
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS3tOGL5qa8 Similar to #7 on this list, Uriah garnered hype due to his performances on The Ultimate Fighter and was similarly noted as a future champion. What people failed to understand was that the competition in the reality series is far, far different to that of the UFC's top contenders, though this is not where Uriah ultimately failed to live up to his hype. Uriah reached the house via decision, though went on to reach the finale with three incredible knockouts. The first was a devastating spinning hook kick dubbed to be the greatest knockout in TUF history against Adam Cella. This is where the hype just began. In his quarter final bout, Uriah defeated wildcard Bubba McDaniels and knocked the Team Jones member out in merely 8 seconds with one punch, breaking McDaniels' face in three places. Hall was then matched up with the New Zealand native, Dylan Andrews and won via an impressive knockout from his guard. So, thusfar, the hype was very much warranted. However, this is where it all went downhill. The finale fight against dark horse Kelvin Gastellum was one which many expected to end via another devastating knockout victory for Hall, but it all went badly wrong. The Jamaican, Hall, didn't protect himself the whole fight, cockily fighting with his hands down and was ultimately picked apart by the guy with a game plan and sensible approach, Gastellum. Using superior wrestling and control, the American went on to win a split - although it should have been unanimous - decision in what was one of the biggest underdog victories of the year. Although this defeat was just a month ago and Hall predictably hasn't fought since then, the severity and shock to the defeat makes it hard to see Hall reaching the championship fight many expected him to get fairly shortly. Lesson learnt for Mr. Hall, do not overlook your opponent.
