7. Nigel De Jong High Footed Challenge On Xabi Alonso
In the 2010 World Cup final between the Netherlands and Spain, then Manchester City midfielder, Nigel De Jong, drove his high foot, studs and all, into the chest of Xabi Alonso. After the game the Alonso
told the media that the Kong Fu Kick was one of the worst tackles he had received as a player. Referee Howard Webb handed the midfielder a yellow card for his actions, but when having a closer look it is clear the offence should have led to a dismal of the Dutchman.
